Our three-year Strategic Plan is coming to an end. As we look ahead to begin working on our next UAC three-year strategy, it’s important to take stock of what we have already achieved in the last three years.

UAC has worked with purpose to build momentum, strengthen our value proposition, and position ourselves as a confident leader for underwriting agencies in Australia.

Three years of growth and progress

Over this period, we have achieved consistent revenue growth year-on-year, fuelled by an increase in both Voting Members and Business Service Members.

The improved financial stability of the organisation has been complemented by a significant uplift in sponsorship income, which has strengthened our financial position and our ability to deliver more for members.

We have introduced tiered Platinum and Gold Sponsorships, creating new and enhanced opportunities for sponsors to increase their visibility and align more closely with UAC’s activities and audience.

Our Market Exchanges have greatly expanded and refined to reflect better the dynamic relationship between Voting Members, Business Service Members, and brokers.

These events have not only grown in reach and reputation but have also extended into new regional areas, including Wollongong, Launceston, Newcastle, and Ballarat.

We have delivered clear, tangible benefits for both Voting and Business Service Members, supported by a refreshed pricing strategy introduced for the 2024 renewals.

Alongside this, we have partnered with Procare to launch a confidential and free Employee Assistance Program, offering mental, emotional, and psychological support to the employees of our members.

We have also launched Member Advantage, giving members access to exclusive discounts and savings on everyday essentials such as groceries, travel, and more.

We have transformed our education program from a narrow, legal-led offering into a dynamic, member-driven schedule.

By introducing an Expressions of Interest process, we have opened the door for all UAC members to present webinars and seminars.

In 2024, this resulted in the delivery of 50 webinars to more than 2,500 participants, covering topics from product and claims to AI, HR, technology, legal, and compliance.

With 55 webinars already planned for 2025, every educational event now offers CIP and CPD points, adding formal professional development value for attendees.

In advocacy, we have built strong and regular engagement with key industry bodies and regulators, ensuring the voice of our members is heard at the highest levels.

Behind the scenes, we have made significant policy changes and strengthened our governance and operational frameworks to ensure UAC is robust, transparent, and ready for the future.

While this work may not always make headlines, it is the foundation of modern, credible, and sustainable governance.

These aren’t just isolated wins. They are deliberate steps forward. Each one is helping to position UAC as a more agile, visible, and value-driven organisation, laying the foundation for the next three years.

Where UAC is heading in the next three years

What’s needed next is a deliberate and aligned strategy that sharpens our role, deepens our value, and strengthens our resilience.

Our shared vision is clear: to be the leading member organisation for underwriting agencies in Australia, built on connection, influence, and support.

Connection will remain at the heart of what makes UAC unique, as we continue to bring together Voting Members, Business Service Members, and brokers in one collaborative forum.

Influence will be strengthened as we further amplify our voice within the industry and with key decision-makers, ensuring the needs and perspectives of our members are represented and acted upon.

Support will guide our services, as we continue to deliver practical, high-value education, advocacy, and member benefits that help our members’ businesses grow and thrive.

Through our strong and increasingly influential Member base, our Market Exchanges, education programs, and advocacy initiatives, UAC is uniquely placed to act as a connector, a platform, and a voice of influence for the underwriting sector.

No other organisation plays this role in quite the same way.

Our goal over the next three years is to build on this distinctive position to deliver even greater value to our members and the broader underwriting community.
