CFC hosts ‘like-minded insurance women’
A gathering of about 100 enjoyed CFC Underwriting’s Let’s Talk: Women in Insurance workshop in Melbourne in May.
CFC MD Anita Lane shared a frank account of starting in commission housing with her migrant parents to becoming an agency founder and leader, saying too often balancing work, relationships and wellbeing happens in isolation.
“We have never had a room like this before of vibrant, like-minded insurance women. It’s very exciting,” she said. “When we talk properly and honestly, the load always feels lighter.”
The crowd enjoyed a panel discussion with McLardy McShane’s Meg Long, Aon’s Sue O’Brien, Canopius’ Alana Cosham and CFC’s Anika Hossain.
Breakout sessions followed on career momentum and leadership; navigating family and life transitions; financial awareness and confidence; and health, energy and hormones.
The event closed with networking drinks.
