120 attend golf charity challenge
McLardy McShane’s annual Golf Challenge charity day was held on the first Friday in January at Victoria’s Moonah Links golf course on the Mornington Peninsula.
Attended by 120 golfers, the event raised a record $125,000 to help FightMND find treatments for Motor Neurone Disease.
Almost 200 then attended a dinner at The Continental Sorrento that featured MC Russel Howcroft and high-profile Australians Mick Molloy, Sam Pang, Andy Maher, Andy Lee, Max Gawn, Mike Sheahan and Caroline Wilson, who all donated their time.
“A fantastic day of golfing, it was a great success,” CEO Don McLardy said. “These days form an important part of the culture of McLardy McShane and our platform of giving back to the community.
“This takes our fundraising from the golf day alone to over $500,000 – something we are very proud of.”
Former Essendon AFL player and FightMND patron Neale Daniher and family also attended, and a Volvo XC40 Plus valued at $60,000 was on offer as a hole-in-one prize.
McLardy McShane plans to run similar golf days this year in Sydney, Brisbane and Perth.
