ADVERTORIAL
The Underwriting Agencies Council (UAC) is entering a transformative new chapter.
Following our recent Annual General Meeting in Sydney, we are proud to announce a refreshed Board of Directors.
This group of leaders embody the diversity, expertise, and forward-thinking vision required to lead the underwriting sector into 2026 and beyond.
We are pleased to confirm that Michael Edmonds (Commercial EGM, NTI) and Colin Fagen (MD, Blue Zebra) will continue their dedicated leadership as Chair and Deputy Chair, respectively. Joining them in key executive roles are Simon Ascroft (Argyle Insurance), who steps into the role of Treasurer, and Troy Filipcevic (CEO, Emergence), who transitions to Company Secretary/Public Officer.
The full 2026 Board brings together a powerhouse of industry knowledge, including directors Anita Lane (CFC Underwriting), Peter Klemt (PassportCard Australia), Jason Clarke (360 Underwriting Solutions), Jodie Banks (About Underwriting), and Natasha Gale (Market Lane Group).
This new-look board is more than just a list of names; it is a strategic assembly.
By bringing together leaders from global specialists, boutique agencies, and established commercial giants, we ensure that every UAC member, regardless of their niche or size, has a voice at the table.
As we welcome new energy, we also pause to recognise the giants upon whose shoulders we stand. We extend our deepest gratitude to our retiring directors: Heath Amber (Austagencies), Jeanene Hill (Market Lane Group), Anthony Porter (AFA Insurance), and associate director: Trent Brown (Allstate Underwriting).
While they may be stepping down from formal board duties, their legacy of mentorship and their continued support within our community remain vital to our collective success.
A key focus for the incoming Board is the continued strengthening of our governance and compliance frameworks. In an increasingly complex regulatory landscape, UAC is leading by example. We are committed to a transparent UAC, one that operates with rigorous financial oversight and clear accountability.
By refining our internal processes and ensuring our board reflects a broad spectrum of expertise, we aren’t just checking a compliance box; we are building a sustainable association that can advocate from a position of undisputed professional authority.
The collective passion across this board is extraordinary. Our mission over the next three-year strategic roadmap is clear: to deepen member value, strengthen broker relationships, and ensure the underwriting agency sector is recognised for the innovation and expertise it brings to the market.
